Editor’s Note
The much-anticipated maiden edition of The Erozine is finally here! We are so much thrilled to be sharing the wonderful thoughts and expressions of many great poets and writers from all over the world! It is a grand celebration of lust and beauty!
It is a huge responsibility to be saddled with the sublime and solemn duty of selecting from many great works to be part of this first issue – from more than 1000 submissions! Yet, given the constraints of space and the need to identify the works that best capture our vision of what lust should represent, the editorial team, after several months of deliberation, has come up with this great collection!
This maiden issue, Eros, explores the multifaceted nature of lust. The Greek god of love, or more aptly, lust, Eros was famed for striking an irresistible passion in his targets with such fierce flames that, in Hesiod’s words, Eros “loosens the limbs and weakens the mind” (Theogony, 120).
Eros is a higher form of love. It defies reason and gravitates toward insatiable sensuality, exploring physical attractiveness and connection, while liberating the mind from inhibitions and pretentious morality, as well as other social limitations that impose who, where, whom, and how lust should be explored and expressed.
The only true love is that which is unentangled and expressed in its purest form – lust! We invite you to share the wonders of lust explored in this issue. Be ready to get immersed in the redefinition of lust and find true freedom only achieved by connecting with Eros!
